Collier County Sheriff out of Florida chose a Ford Transit 350 high roof extended-length cargo van to build their new CID Interview Vehicle on. This vehicle features an EcoBoost 3.5L Flex Fuel engine and 10-speed automatic transmission with OD and SelectShift. At the entry door is a pull out entry step. Blackout curtains allow Collier County to separate the cab from the work area of the vehicle. A sliding double door FRP covered pocket door on heavy-duty aluminum tracks also provides separation when needed.
Inside are two workstations which feature spider base task chairs, a 32" LED TV monitor, 20A-125Vac duplex receptacles with dual USB charging ports, HDMI input jack, RJ-45 Cat6 computer network jacks, and more. Hinged bench seats provide additional seating when needed. Laminate countertops have been used throughout for durability, including on the stowable table with three removable legs. Custom aluminum overhead cabinets include dry erase writing surfaces for convenience. Pre-wire and installation provisions have already been made for communications radios and customer owned 4G wireless router.
An automatic electric awning has been installed, providing shade to those entering or exiting the vehicle. Emergency lights and sirens provide high visibility when traveling to a scene.
