LDV originally worked with Cobb County to design and build this EOD vehicle back in 2005 and then completed a technology upgrade to the unit in 2013. This vehicle was built on a Freightliner M2 106 cab chassis with a 24' all aluminum custom dry van body. It features a 350HP engine and Allison 3000 EVS automatic transmission with PTO provision.
The unit received upgraded entry steps with NFPA aluminum tread plates, new workstation chairs, upgraded cabinets with shelving, new dry erase boards, new LCD TV/Monitors and DVD video recorders. LDV performed service and repairs as needed to the emergency lighting, light tower, mast service and installed a new camera system, converter/chargers. LDV also did overall updates and maintenance to the vehicle while it was at our facility as well.
This unit kept the original floor plan design with workstations and optional conference space in the front of the vehicle. The middle contains an additional entrance into the galley space with a refrigerator. At the back of the vehicle is the EOD robot ramp and robot storage. HVAC is handled by two low-profile air conditioners and a 5,600 Btu/hr heat strip and condensate pump.
