The Clarksville Police Department chose a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis for their mobile command center. This command center is powered by a Cummins 300HP engine with an Allison 2500 EVS automatic transmission and has a 30,000-lb. GVWR.
Two LDV-fabricated, flat-floor slide-out rooms have been integrated in the front-end of the vehicle to provide additional space for a conference table and six five-star base office chairs. Flip-down bench seating, a dry erase board, and a wall-mounted 49" smart LED TV are also found within the conference room area. LDV's Intel-I-Touch™ system has been integrated into the cab area of the vehicle to handle vehicle deployment and automation. Storage is provided by custom fabricated aluminum cabinets throughout the interior. Five custom-fabricated aluminum framed magnetic dry erase boards were installed throughout the interior as well. A galley kitchen with a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator and an on-board lavatory with pressurized water system has also been included.
The exterior features custom-fabricated storage compartments, including a custom-fabricated housing for a Wrico Platinum 25kW liquid-cooled diesel generator. Four ducted Coleman Polar Mach 8 series low-profile air conditioners help keep things cool. Two wall-mounted electric heaters and one kick space heater also help keep the vehicle warm when needed. The rear has been outfitted with a 15" wide roof access ladder. An emergency lighting and siren package, color backup camera system, and Quadra Mfg. Bigfoot automatic one-touch vehicle leveling system have also been included as well.
