The City of Newark PD just took delivery of their new mobile command vehicle. Built on a Ford F-550 regular cab 2wd chassis, their vehicle features an 18ft. all aluminum dry van body with curbside and rear entry doors. At the rear is a custom flip-down rear step. On the outside the vehicle features a complete emergency lighting and siren package and LED scene lighting.
Inside, the truck features 3 workstations in the front area complete with aluminum storage cabinets with undercabinet LED lighting, an electronics rack, laminate counter tops and vehicle deployment panel. The customer specified a galley with microwave and refrigerator and additional aluminum storage cabinetry in the center of the vehicle. Custom magnetic dry erase white boards were also installed.
The rear of Newark PD's mobile command center features a conference area with stowable table, fixed bench seating with removable cushion for underseat storage and an additional workstation.
Lighting throughout the Newark PD vehicle is LED. Four spider base task chairs were included for staff members. A 7kW generator supplies electric power to the vehicle. Two low-profile air conditioners with wall mounted thermostat handle the cooling inside the vehicle. Two wall-mounted electric heaters handle the heating.
