We recently completed this 33.5ft. Bomb Disposal vehicle for the City of Dallas, TX. The unit is built on a 2019 Ford F-650 regular cab 2WD diesel chassis and features a GVWR of 25,999lbs, air suspension and a 230" wheelbase. The truck is powered by a 6.7L Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel with a Ford Torqshift HD 6-speed automatic transmission. The body is a custom all aluminum dry van body with a curbside entry door and robot ramp. A custom 50" wide bolt-on flip down rear step on the rear bumper provides a second entry access into the vehicle. The customer specified a Link Mfg. bi-fold aluminum collapsible fold-out robot ramp with a 1,000lb. capacity. LDV fabricated a custom center console for locating the siren controller, police radio and/or other controls as needed. A color backup camera system was also installed.
Inside the vehicle, robot storage is allocated at the front with VersaTie track recessed into the floor for tie-down points. Custom fabricated aluminum cabinets with LED under cabinet lighting provide ample storage. Custom fabricated aluminum box pan shelves and slide-out trays provide gear storage and have polyester mesh cargo netting to secure items on interior shelving. An aluminum-framed, magnetic dry erase board was installed in the interior as well. Counter tops are durable laminate and 2 spider base task chairs for staff are securable during vehicle transport. A 40" 4K HDR LED Smart TV and 2 32" LED Smart TVs are installed in the interior. Communications radios are prewired. A flip-down counter in the front area was included to maximize the working area.
Electric power is supplied via a 7.5kW diesel generator and dual low profile, rooftop A/C units with thermostat keep the interior cool in the Texas heat. The vehicle's electrical system is protected by full-vehicle AC surge protection system. A host of electrical outlets throughout the interior are included. A complete emergency lighting and siren package was installed. The interior also contains two Airmag ATF spec steel day boxes.
