The City of Concord PD (NH) chose a Ford E-450 Cutaway Base chassis for their new incident command vehicle. This custom dry van body features a 6.8L EFI FFC Triton V10 gas engine and electronic 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and tow/haul capabilities. A manually operated exterior entrance step has been added to the front while a 40" wide bolt-on flip-down step has been added to the rear bumper allowing vehicle access through the double rear doors. An FRP covered pocket door has been installed to provide privacy between the body and cab areas.
Three workstations are complete with a pneumatic task chair, custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets, dry erase surfaces on overhead cabinets, 24" Smart LED monitors, and laminate countertops. In the center of the vehicle, an aluminum closet with FRP sides and adjustable shelves sits across from a galley area with prewire and installation provisions made for a communications radio. Prewire and installation provisions for communications radios have also been added between the front two workstations and in the cab area. A double pedestal removable table can be stowed in the fixed bench seating with removable cushions located in the back conference area.
On the exterior, a 7kW 120 volt AC generator sits in a custom-fabricated generator housing. For Concord's HVAC needs, a low-profile air conditioner has been integrated while 2 wall-mounted 5,120 Btu/hr electric heaters provide heat. Providing coverage over the passenger-side entry door is a solid color awning. A 16ft. US Tower ALM-16 mast includes truck mount brackets for an IP dome camera. On top of the mast sits a Dome Network Camera with Lightfinder technology while an Axis T8705 Video Decoder enables the monitors to connect and display live video from the mast camera and 4 IP Perimeter cameras.
