The Chester County detectives recruited LDV to build their mobile crime scene unit. This vehicle is built on a Ford E-450 cutaway chassis. This 12ft. long custom dry van body houses a 6.8L Triton V10 gas engine and an electronic 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and tow-haul capabilities.
The inside features a space for two workstations complete with swivel task chairs. Prewire provisions have been made for communications radios to be installed. Custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets and a closet provide storage with aluminum box pan shelves. Laminate countertops have been added for durability. GFCI duplex receptacles have been added throughout for electric needs. For additional privacy, a pocket door has been added between the cab and work area.
The exterior features an awning to cover exterior storage compartments during inclement weather. A 5.5kW AC generator has been installed in its own custom-fabricated all-aluminum generator compartment. Emergency lights and siren have been added to increase visibility when traveling to a scene. For HVAC needs, a low-profile air conditioner and ceiling BTU heat strip keep the temperature comfortable. Dual entry rear doors provide additional access into the vehicle.
