Chance Routt’s 26ft. Peterbilt Elite 537 Tool Truck

Chance Routt’s new tool truck was built on a 26ft. Peterbilt Elite 537 with a setback entry door is powered by a PACCAR PX-9 engine and Allison 3000HS transmission. The all-aluminum construction also features air brakes, an air suspension, Grover air horns, a single rear swing door, and a 2,000lb. all-aluminum lift gate. Two aluminum weather resistant storage boxes have been integrated into the body for additional storage.

Inside is a double 22″ wide repair stack with ColorCore face-frame. This stack also includes a socket center, Monday-Friday stack, and aluminum inserts for the broken tools drawer. The carpeted straight hammer display sits atop half of the repair stack. Across from this is the ColorCore L-shaped workstation featuring a pullout writing surface, tool chute, oak printer shelf, a 24″ wide drawer stack, trash can, and LED lighted angled knife display facing the aisle. Other displays found in the tool truck include an oak literature rack, pry bar display, air too ladder, and slatwall diagnostic cradles. A glass front refrigerator is also found at the rear along with ColorCore promo shelves and LDV’s 5-shelf system.

Providing electric power to the vehicle is a 7.5KW diesel generator in an all-aluminum sound attenuated enclosure. It also sits on a slide-out tray for easy maintenance when needed. HVAC is handled by a 53,000 BTU engine driven air conditioner, two 15,000 BTU roof top air conditioners, and a 12,000 BTU diesel fired furnace. A color back-up camera assists with parking duties while a side view camera system keeps the tool truck secure.
