The Champaign County Sheriff Emergency Management Agency of Illinois chose LDV to create their new mobile command center. Built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis, this vehicle features a Cummins B6.7 engine, Allison 2200 EVS automatic transmission with park pawl and PTO provision, hydraulic brakes, and air suspension. Champaign chose to integrate one of LDV's flat floor slide-out room extensions, maximizing the interior space of their command center. This slide-out, along with other features such as the Night Mode lighting, HVAC, lights, and generator can be controlled through LDV's Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system. Multiple Intel-I-Touch screens have been installed throughout the vehicle, providing multiple places to control the different features of the vehicle.
The front conference area includes a conference table with fold-down leaf, three spider base task chairs, 50" UHD 4K Smart HDTV, fixed bench seating, and flip-down bench seats. Located in the center of the vehicle is a galley kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, and 2.7 cu.ft. refrigerator. An on-board lavatory has also been included in the center as well. There are also custom-fabricated aluminum cabinetry in this area as well. The rear features four dedicated workstations with Laminate countertops have been used throughout for durability. Two flush pocket doors have been installed on heavy-duty aluminum tracks, helping to create privacy between the different areas of the vehicle when needed.
A weatherproof exterior workstation includes a 55" QLED 4K UHD Outdoor Smart TV, internal flip down work surface, LED strip light, outlets, dual USB charging ports, and a small Intel-I-Touch pad. Providing electric power to the vehicle when needed is the 20-kW liquid-cooled diesel generator which has been installed in its own custom fabricated compartment. HVAC is handled by three ducted low-profile air conditioners, two wall mount 5,120Btu/hr electric heater, and a direct discharge diesel-fired furnace. Emergency lights and sirens have been installed on the exterior of the vehicle providing high visibility when traveling to a scene.
