Care Net of Dane County (WI) Mobile Medical Vehicle

Care Net of Dane County recently took delivery of their new Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis, all aluminum body mobile medical vehicle. The vehicle features a Cummins 260hp diesel engine with an Allison 2200 EVS automatic transmission with PTO provision. The vehicle is equipped with Airliner air ride rear suspension.

Inside, the medical vehicle features a Zone Defense color back-up camera system to assist with parking duties. A white noise machine was installed in the interior for additional privacy as well as three FRP-covered pocket doors installed on heavy duty track. For safety, there are three body-integrated sliding egress windows. Custom wood slatwalls have been added in the exam and waiting areas providing functionality and warmth to the interior. A white noise generator can be utilized in exam rooms for additional privacy.

A lavatory is included in the design with a waterless dry-flush toilet, pressurized and heated water system with a 2.5 gallon electric hot water heater, 30 gallon fresh water tank and stainless steel sinks. Bobrick™ bathroom fixtures were selected for the lavatory. Laminate countertops have been used for durability. Two refrigerators have been included in the galley area with one dedicated specifically for specimen storage.

Three spider-base task chairs are used for checking-in purposes while fixed bench seating provides seating and additional storage due to its removable cushions. Custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets are found throughout providing ample storage. Two sharps disposals, two wall-mounted hand sanitizers, an exam table, and a wall-mounted AED unit are just some of the customer-supplied medical equipment used in the vehicle.

On the exterior, LED scene lighting provides light along the perimeter and ground of the vehicle. An Onan 12kW diesel generator supplies power and is encased in a custom-fabricated all-aluminum compartment. Three diesel-fired furnaces and three low-profile rooftop A/C units provide the vehicle's HVAC needs.
