The Broward County Sheriff's Office (FL) just took delivery of their new mobile equipment vehicle! This Ford F59 stripped chassis is powered by a 6.8L 3V SOHC EFI Triton V10 gasoline engine and includes a 6-Speed TorqShift automatic transmission with overdrive. An LDV custom-molded lift-up hood is found on the front with "Broward County" finishing off the grill. A 30" wide bolt-on flip-down step can be found on the rear bumper along with a custom Class III receiver hitch that has also been fabricated.
Upon entering the vehicle, two workstations sit at a desk with Wilsonart solid surface countertops and a 32" LED TV to monitor the four perimeter cameras around the exterior. A passenger jump-seat is also affixed to the side of the desk. Overhead aluminum cabinets offset an electronics box above the workstations. The rest of the interior is also outfitted with ample custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets for storage as well as solid surface countertops for durability. A pull-out printer tray has also been integrated into the cabinet area to allow for easy access and service. Two charging banks for customer owned cameras and radios are affixed to the streetside and curbside back walls. Custom-fabricated flip-down bench seating is found underneath each 49" Smart LED TV located in the rear of the vehicle. All cab area windows include blackout curtains to provide privacy and shade as well.
The exterior has an electric awning with LED lights to provide shade and light to those working outside. A weatherproof exterior charging station includes an HDMI input and output jack, Cat6 network jacks, a GFCI receptacle, 12v outlet, 12v dual USB jack, and a dual receptacle with dual USB jack. Exterior single door underbody storage compartments provide additional storage. Four deep-cycle 6Vdc batteries are housed in a slide-out weather resistant aluminum compartment. A 12-kW 120/240Vac liquid-cooled gasoline generator provides power and resides in a custom-fabricated generator housing. For HVAC needs, two low-profile air conditioners have been added. The rear entry door includes a custom-fabricated door holder, allowing the door to stay open as wide as possible while staff move in and out. A color back-up camera system and an emergency lights and siren package finishes off this mobile equipment vehicle.
