The Broward County Sheriff (FL) chose LDV to create their impressive new Forensic Response Unit. Built on a Freightliner M2 chassis, the vehicle features four custom fabricated flat-floor slide-outs to increase the interior workspace, creating an even larger area for staff to work within. Our exclusive Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation touchscreen simplifies the deployment and critical functions of the vehicle once on scene. Everything from slide-out extension, HVAC, lighting, retractable awning, generator start/stop and more are controlled via the Intel-I-Touch.
An impressive front lab area features a stainless steel conference table with linear actuator lifting column base, allowing for easy height adjustability for sitting or standing. Custom-fabricated cabinets line the walls along with stainless steel countertops for durability. A custom pass-through from the outside of the vehicle was integrated with custom aluminum box pan shelving and weatherproof-sealed cabinet doors.
The center of the vehicle features a galley area with pressurized sink, a stainless steel 17.5 cu. ft. French door refrigerator with ice maker and pull out freezer door, custom cabinets, and electronics rack. There is also a lavatory with low-profile toilet, stainless steel sink, and pressurized water system.
The rear area holds another conference area with a fixed conference table, five office task chairs, custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets, printer, and fixed bench seating with removable cushions for additional storage. Three of the five task chairs are stowed by brackets affixed to custom-fabricated flip-down bench seating found on the curb side of the vehicle.
The exterior includes a weatherproof exterior workstation with a Sunbrite TV, HDMI input, CAT6 jacks, GFCI duplex outlet, a power outlet with USB charger, and a fold-down workspace shelf with LED lights. An exterior 2.7 cu. ft. refrigerator is also integrated into the body of the vehicle. On the front, curbside slide-out are twin doors with a full-width Tunnel Box that provides interior and exterior access. Four telescoping tripod LED light poles are stowed on the rear of the vehicle and can be set up along the perimeter to light a scene.
