Branford PD (CT) Mobile Command Center

Branford PD of Connecticut recently took delivery of their new mobile command center. Built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis, it features a CUMMINS B6.7 260HP engine and Allison 2200 EVS automatic transmission with park pawl and PTO provision. A LDV-fabricated flat-floor slide out has been integrated into the body, providing additional interior space to the front conference room. The slide-out, along with other vehicle systems such as HVAC, lighting, generator, and more can all be controlled through LDV's exclusive Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system. Two mini panels have been integrated into the weatherproof exterior workstation as well as the back work area of the vehicle. The exterior workstation features a 43" QLED TV, internal flip down work surface and LED strip light.

Inside the vehicle is a front conference room that includes a fixed conference table with a fold-down leaf. Fixed bench seating includes removable cushions for additional storage space. In the curbside slide out is additional flip-down seating with brackets to store the spider base task chairs when in transit. Located in the center of the vehicle is a galley kitchen which includes a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. One flush pocket door on a heavy-duty aluminum track creates separation between these areas when needed. At the rear of the vehicle is a work area with four workstations with overhead cabinets, spider base task chairs, and a 32" QLED TV on the rear wall. A framed magnetic white board can also be found on the curbside wall.

The exterior features a Dometic 9500E horizontal arm awning which provides cover for those using the exterior workstation or entering/exiting the vehicle. Prewire and installation provisions have been made for a plethora of customer-installed items including a mast, 4G wireless router, satellite broadband system, and communications radios. Three ducted low profile rooftop air conditioners help keep things cool in the vehicle. A 20kW 120/240Vac liquid-cooled diesel generator provides electric power to the vehicle when needed.
