Boston Fire Department traces its roots back to 1631. Boston FD is the first paid fire department in the United States and is currently the largest municipal fire department in New England. LDV is proud to design, build and deliver their latest piece of equipment to better serve their community members.
Built on a Freightliner M2 106 conventional cab chassis, Boston Fire Department's new Mobile Command Center features 3 LDV-fabricated flat floor slide-out extensions, a weatherproof exterior workstation and our extreme duty body storage compartments. The vehicle is a snap to set-up on scene thanks to our Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation touchscreen. We equipped Boston Fire Department's vehicle with a complete emergency lighting and siren package as well as leveling control. A lateral arm awning was also added to the curbside exterior. On the rear, a non-locking pneumatic mast with dome network IP camera was also installed for perimeter and situational awareness.
Inside, the vehicle features a front conference room with fixed and flip down bench seating. A 65" LED 4K TV monitor was mounted to the front wall which can display a variety of video signals. There is also a workstation in the curbside slide-out. Magnetic dry erase white boards are included throughout the vehicle as well. The center of the vehicle houses a galley with refrigerator and microwave as well as a multi-function color printer. Dual magnetic closure pocket doors have also been installed for privacy. The rear of the vehicle has 4 workstations with high resolution monitors, communications radios and custom fabrication aluminum cabinetry. A large electronics rack houses all of Boston Fire Department's electrical equipment.
