The Beverly Hills Police Department selected a Freightliner MT55 with 26,000lb GVWR and a 24' walk in style van body as the foundation for their mobile command center. This mobile command center includes a 300HP engine and Allison 2200 EVS automatic transmission with park pawl and PTO provision. Blackout curtains in the cab area provide shade and privacy when needed.
Two flat floor slide out rooms maximize the interior of the large front conference room. This area features fixed bench seating with removable cushions for additional storage space, a conference table, task chairs, monitors, white boards, and flip-down bench seating. A centrally located galley includes a microwave, coffee maker, and 2.7cu. ft. refrigerator. The center of the vehicle also features custom cabinets, electronics racks, and a printer on a slide-out tray for easy maintenance. Three rear workstations include custom-fabricated bench seating, cabinetry, interior LED lighting, monitors, and communications radios.
LDV's Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system controls systems such as lighting, HVAC, and awnings as well as startup and shutdown procedures. An exterior workstation with outdoor LED TV, network jacks, USB charging station, telephone handset, and multiplex control pad has been integrated into the body of the vehicle. On the rear is a heavy duty mast with camera system for keeping surveillance over a scene. To assist with parking duties, a color backup camera system has been installed.
