Ascension Parish chose a Peterbilt 382 conventional cab chassis with a Paccar PX-9 engine and Allison 3000 EVS-P transmission. HVAC duties are handled by four wall mount electric heaters and four low-profile air conditioners. A color backup camera system also assists with parking duties. All of these systems can be automated by LDV's Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system which also controls features like slide-outs and startup and shutdown procedures.
Two slide-outs increase the space of the front conference area which holds a conference table, task chairs, multiple white boards, a monitor, and flip-down bench seating. The midsection has a full galley with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and sink. A lavatory, network tower and storage areas also complete the center of the vehicle. The rear features a communications area with four workstations including flat screen HDTVs, custom cabinets with dry erase surfaces, dry erase boards, network jacks, and task chairs.
The exterior of the vehicle features emergency lighting as well as telescoping light poles that can be used to illuminate a scene during night operations. The lavatory can be access from the exterior through a streetside access door using the pull-out steps and a stainless steel handrail assembly. A weatherproof exterior TV compartment houses a 42" monitor is covered by an acrylic fabric awning. On the rear, a heavy-duty non-locking telescoping pneumatic mast with camera system has been installed along with a roof access ladder. Ample exterior storage compartments have been integrated into the body as well.
