Apple Valley Fire Department (MN) Mobile Command Center

The Apple Valley Fire Department recently took delivery of their new mobile command center! This Ford F59 is 20ft. long with a GVWR of 22,000-lbs. Its powered by a 6.8L Triton V10 engine and has a 6-speed 6R140 automatic transmission that includes tow-haul mode. A Wrico 12-kW 120/240Vac liquid-cooled gasoline generator keeps things humming along in a custom-fabricated generator housing. The interior of the mobile command center features custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets throughout the vehicle for ample storage. The front area includes fixed bench seating with removable cushions to offer more storage. Flip-down bench seating is also affixed under a 49" 4K HDR LED Smart HDTV. A pressurized lavatory system has been worked into the vehicle's lavatory which includes a stainless steel sink, low-profile toilet, and a framed mirror. A rear work area has two work stations, custom-fabricated cabinets, and an electronics rack. The cafe-style conference table with bench seating also includes a file cabinet built into each seat for additional storage space. Magnetic dry erase boards framed in aluminum have also been used throughout the vehicle. Provisions for multiple communications radios have been made throughout the vehicle as well as CAT6 computer jacks, a 4x4 HDMI matrix switcher, HDMI inputs with wall plates, and a host of other electronic components. The exterior features a heavy-duty non-locking telescoping pneumatic mast with a custom-fabricated Nycoil cylinder and mast mounting plate for a camera. Two deep-cycle batteries are housed within an exterior weatherproof slide-out storage compartment. Other underbody storage compartments have been integrated into the body for additional storage as well. A Dometic automatic awning helps provide coverage of the entry door in inclement weather as well as for those working outside. Quadra's fully-automatic one-touch leveling system allows the vehicle to sit level no matter what terrain it is parked on. All of these systems can be controlled through LDV's Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system which allows operators to deploy certain features with the touch of a button. A roof access ladder has been mounted to the rear of the vehicle to allow for easy access as well.
