Anoka County EM (MN) Mobile Command Center

Anoka County EM in Minnesota chose LDV to create their new mobile command center. Built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis, the vehicle features a Cummins B6.7 engine and Allison 2200 EVS automatic transmission with park pawl with PTO provision. A single industry-exclusive flat-floor slide-out room has been integrated into the curbside of the vehicle to maximize the interior space of the vehicle when needed. LDV's Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system handles deployment of the slide-out along with additional vehicle systems such as HVAC, lighting, start/stop of the generator, and more. At the front is a conference area complete with three monitors, flip-down bench seating, and a conference table with a fold-down leaf. Seating at the conference table is handled by fixed bench seating which also features removable cushions for additional storage space. The center features more custom-fabricated aluminum cabinetry including closets and a slide-out tray for a customer-supplied printer for easy maintenance. Overhead lighting can be changed to "half" and "night" mode  as well depending on the department's needs via the Intel-I-Touch pad. A cafe style seat also sits in the center of the vehicle and includes monitors, communications radio, and network jacks. A generous electronics rack sits next to this additional center workstation. At the rear of the vehicle are four workstations with monitors, communications radios, custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets, and framed magnetic whiteboards. The exterior features a weatherproof exterior workstation with a 43" monitor, GFCI duplex outlet, Cat6 network jacks, HDMI wall plate input, Extron touch pad, combination 12v/USB power ports, and mini Intel-I-Touch pad. To supply electric power to the vehicle, a 20-kW generator has been installed in its own custom-fabricated compartment. A 14' awning has also been installed on the curb side of the vehicle to provide cover for those entering and exiting the vehicle and staff working at the exterior workstation. On the rear is a heavy-duty non-locking telescoping pneumatic mast with a Dome Network camera with Lightfinder technology to keep track of the vehicle's surroundings. HVAC duties are handled by three low-profile air conditioners and two direct discharge diesel-fired furnaces with individual thermostat controls. LDV integrated our extreme-duty body storage compartments for additional gear storage as well.

"I was very satisfied with the whole experience and process. I believe that the sales personnel and technicians are very knowledgeable and have years of institutional knowledge that shows in the execution of the unit. My questions were all ways answered immediately and if there was any reach back for additional confirmation it was always followed up with a phone call and email. The open lines of communication provided both of us the full awareness of where we were in the build process and helped eliminate unnecessary delays or unanswered questions. Everyone I encountered during my visits were always smiling and happy while working, which was great to see and experience. This is reflected in the finished product that was noticed by my staff and all others that have visited to see the new addition to our fleet."

The best feature of the vehicle is the flush floor slide-out in the front of the vehicle. It provides a very functional work area and always receives favorable comments.
