The Allstate Vans and Ford Transit were designed so the Allstate Catastrophe Team has the ability to drive into devastated areas and service their clients. The adjusters can assist in getting customers’ claims filed, basic equipment needs met, etc. On board adjusters will be able to assess damage and write checks, carry basic supplies such as bottled water, and be internet-ready so customers can connect with friends and family.
The Ford Transit is a high roof HD extended length cargo van with a 3.2L diesel engine and 6-speed electronic SelectShift automatic transmission with overdrive. Blackout curtains create privacy between the cab and load space when needed.
The vehicle features two workstations with custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets with dry erase surfaces. A storage area with FRP shelves is secured by mesh cargo netting at the back of the workspace. An electronics rack and 60A-120Vac control panel ensures the equipment needed has a dedicated space and power. Weather software and a weather display console have been installed as well.
The exterior features a weatherproof exterior LCD HDTV monitor and awning to provide convenience and coverage to those working outside. A 7.5-kW diesel generator is housed in a custom compartment on the rear of the vehicle. A heavy-duty vehicle leveling system ensures the vehicle sits properly even in catastrophe areas.
