The Alameda County Sheriff's Office chose a Ford E-450 Commercial Cutaway chassis for their new crisis negotiation vehicle. The all aluminum-bodied vehicle features an exterior workstation, telescoping mast with perimeter camera, retractable curb-side awning and complete emergency lighting and siren package.
Inside, the unit features front and rear workstations for five with high resolution display monitors, custom fabricated aluminum cabinets, dry erase white boards and radio communications. We built fixed bench seating with removable cushions for additional storage. Laminate countertops are installed throughout.
A low-profile rooftop A/C unit was installed as well as two electric heaters. Electric power is supplied by a 7kW generator housed within a custom fabricated generator box. Vehicle automation is handled by an LDV Intel-I-Touch™ touch panel.
