LDV, Inc (Lynch Diversified Vehicles) recently delivered the Adams County Sheriff’s Office custom-built EOD response vehicle. This vehicle boasts an innovative design, developed in cooperation with Adams County that includes features standard to LDV vehicles: LDV’s Intel-I-Touch™, a fully programmable vehicle automation system controlled through on-board touchscreens and fully automatic flush floor slide out room extensions.
Among the special requests for this project was the ability for bomb techs to dress out in a bomb suit inside or outside of the vehicle. In response, LDV developed a linear actuated lift system that can safely move four bomb suits from the interior to the exterior for easy access. When the techs need to dress outside the vehicle, an electric lift safely lowers the suits to the ground. Adams County was also looking for a system to quickly dry the interior of the bomb suits and helmets after each use. In response, the LDV engineering team developed a unique cross ventilation cabinet to dry the suits along with custom mounts for each helmet with drying fans. The drying system is controlled through LDV’s Intel-I-Touch™ system. Other features include a lift on the rear to deploy the robot, four interior and one exterior operator stations with 4K resolution video, rotating telescopic pole mounted robot antennas with interlock to prevent the vehicle from being moved when deployed, explosives magazine, and an automatic awning.
