The go-anywhere mobile command vehicle was built on a Mercedes Unimog U500 chassis and features a 158" wheelbase. The load space is 10ft. long aluminum body construction and features telescoping tripod light poles for night operations. A complete exterior scene lighting package was also installed to illuminate the perimeter of the vehicle as well as a complete emergency lighting package.
Inside, the command vehicle features two workstations with high resolution display monitors, laminate counter tops and spider base task chairs. Aluminum storage cabinets are utilized for gear storage. An Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation control system was integrated to simplify the start-up and shut down of the vehicle. Electric power is supplied to the vehicle by a 16.5kW liquid cooled diesel generator housed within a custom fabricated compartment. The generator has dust particulate filtering for protection from the desert environment. Exhaust gases are routed to the roof. The vehicle is also equipped with an on-board battery charger for maintaining the chassis batteries. Dual rechargeable LED Streamlight flashlights were also included in the interior. An IBM server is also included in the vehicle.
