Well Equipped Equipment Vehicles

For those working for utility companies, public works or municipalities, it’s not just the staff you have responding on a scene that makes a difference. It’s also having the vital equipment needed on hand to make sure your jobs can be done correctly and effectively. 

Having a vehicle that can not only hold your equipment but adapt to your ever-changing equipment needs is crucial. Below, LDV has compiled some of our most recent equipment vehicle deliveries that have delivered to communities across the country, ready to work. 

Comer Volunteer Fire Department

This emergency equipment vehicle is built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis with a Cummins B6.7L 240HP diesel engine with an Allison 2200HS automatic transmission with PTO provision. The all aluminum body is corrosion resistant and features a flip down rear step for entry into the vehicle. There is an LED courtesy light and electric step at the curbside entry door as well. We undercoated the entire vehicle for additional corrosion resistance. A color backup camera system has been installed to assist with parking maneuvers.

AMPLE EQUIPMENT SPACE
Inside, we installed custom gear lockers and fixed bench seating for staff members. There are wall mounted air tank holders. We installed custom fabricated overhead cabinetry as well for additional storage. Ceiling-mounted grab handles are included. A large storage closet at the rear of the equipment vehicle is also included.

ADDITIONAL STORAGE
Four Streamlight™ flashlights are mounted to the curbside wall. Aluminum box pan adjustable shelving and tank storage are also part of the interior. A small refrigerator for convenience has been included.

EXTRA AMENITIES
The HVAC system consists of two low profile rooftop A/C units and a power roof ventilator. An Onan Commercial Quiet generator supplies plenty of electric power to the vehicle. A full vehicle surge suppression system has been installed to protect the installed electronics. Lighting is LED throughout.

Brown County Sheriff

The Brown County Sheriff in Green Bay, Wisconsin recently took delivery of this new SWAT/Equipment Vehicle. Their truck is built on a Ford F59 gasoline chassis and features a 7.3L V8 engine, 6-speed TorqShift automatic transmission and an all aluminum body construction. We integrated our hand fabricated Extreme Duty body storage compartments for additional gear storage. A complete emergency lighting and siren package has also been added. A removable stainless work table can be added to the curbside exterior when needed. There is a also a monitor mount for operations outside the vehicle. A flip down rear step has been added to the rear bumper for staff.

FRONT STORAGE AREAS
Inside, the SWAT/Equipment vehicle features aluminum box pan shelving which is adjustable for gear. Gear storage includes: 1 rolled hose, 2 collapsing ladders, 2 bang poles, 2 halligans, 1 rake and break, 1 pole, 3 breacher poles, 1 breacher attachment, 3 rams, 1 shovel, 1 sledgehammer and 1 axe.

CABINETS & ROLL-UP DOORS
We also fabricated storage for riot shields. Shelving above this area has cargo netting to secure gear. Roll up doors secure the gear during transport. Additionally, there is a rifle securement cabinet with a roll up door. The ceiling has grab handles added for staff.

PRIVATE WORK AREA
The rear room has a magnetic soft closure pocket door, café-style seating for staff and stowable work tables. Custom aluminum gear storage cabinets are also added. Magnetic surface dry erase white boards are also included. The curbside wall has a 43″ high resolution display monitor added.

Village of Fox Point

LDV equipment vehicle

The Village of Fox Point in Wisconsin just took delivery of their new mobile equipment vehicle! They chose a Ford F59 stripped chassis featuring a 7.3L V8 engine, 6-speed TorqShift automatic transmission with OD, and spring rear suspension. A chrome front bumper, custom fabricated receiver hitch, and flip-down aluminum step on rear bumper with Diamondback step surface finish off the exterior. Multiple underbody storage compartments have been integrated into the body as well for additional equipment storage.

ADJUSTABILITY & DURABILITY
A fixed bench seat with removable cushions has been installed for additional storage space towards the front of the vehicle. Aluminum box pan shelves have been added for storage as well. Laminate countertops have been used throughout the vehicle for durability. Pre-wire and installation provisions for communications radios have also been made for future installation.

ELECTRONICS & STORAGE
Dual USB charging ports, GFCI duplex receptacles, and an auto eject shore power inlet are also included on the vehicle. Hooks have been installed for customer items such as hoses, barriers, and plywood sheathing by the rear entrance door.

ADDED FEATURES
HVAC is handled by a low-profile air conditioner and a 5,800-12,000 Btu/hr direct discharge gasoline-fired furnace. A 7kW generator provides electric power to the vehicle when needed. It has been mounted in a custom fabricated all-aluminum compartment. Assisting with parking duties is a color back-up camera system with a 7″ LCD monitor and day/night camera.

City of Crown Point

City of Crown Point Indiana recently took delivery of this new mobile equipment vehicle. Built on a Ford F59 chassis, the vehicle features a V8 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission and all aluminum body construction. There is a custom flip down entry step at the rear of the vehicle. We also integrated our Extreme Duty body storage compartments in the body. A Hannay cord reel with 50ft. of water hose is installed as well. A city water fill inlet is included.

INTERIOR STORAGE
Custom aluminum cabinets with laminate counter tops are included. There is also a stainless steel counter top for extra durability. We custom fabricated an overhead console to house the vehicle electronics. There is also a color back-up camera system installed to ease parking maneuvers. E-track has been installed to add versatility to the interior.

ADDED AMENITIES
A galley is found in the center of the interior complete with microwave and refrigerator. Under counter horizontal tubes for tank storage have also been included. Adjustable aluminum box pan shelves provide additional gear storage.

EXTRAS & HVAC
Two telescoping light poles plus two telescoping tripod lights have also been included. Wall mounted Streamlight charger and flashlights are included. An Onan Commercial Quiet EFI 7kW generator supplies electric power to the vehicle. A low profile A/C unit has been installed on the roof to keep the interior cool.
