The Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin

LDV Makes it to the Final Four

Throughout the month of September and beginning of October, LDV was fortunate enough to compete in the “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin” contest hosted by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce and Johnson Financial Group. This friendly competition was a great way for LDV to show off our imagination while drumming up enthusiasm around the company and the community of Burlington.

From 160 to 4

Starting with over 160 Wisconsin companies entering their “coolest” products, the public voted for their favorites to make it into the Top 16. Companies were then pitted against each other in a “March Madness” style bracket with voting to see who would continue to advance. Once the Final 4 was determined, it was a battle to see who could capture the most votes to be crowned the “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin” at the beginning of October. Being the last business in Racine County to make it to the Final 4 was an honor and group effort, especially when competing against such tough competitors.

Getting Creative to Generate Votes

LDV’s plan to capture people’s attention was to create entertaining and engaging video content to post to our social media. This plan proved to be successful with our competition videos garnering the most engagement and shares of any video we had produced before. Every step of the competition had our marketing department working quickly to brainstorm, create, and distribute multiple videos for the competition. Each round was looked at as a new challenge and was tackled with creativity and excitement. Some videos were funny, others were heartfelt, but all showcased the talented team members from every department here at LDV. Whether we were squashing a pizza with a mobile command center, launching a lawnmower to catapult us into the next round, or thanking voters for being our friends, everyone at LDV was excited to be a part of these videos. Throughout the competition, LDV was featured in editorial from papers such as the Journal Times, Kenosha News, Milwaukee Business Journal, FDL Reporter, and My Racine County. While LDV didn’t bring home the trophy, it was exciting to have coverage on our journey through the contest and a great way to educate people around Wisconsin about what LDV does.

We’d like to extend a big congratulations to every company that competed in the “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin” contest.
