A Month Full of Mobile Medical

It’s been a busy month for mobile medical at LDV! We delivered two custom medical vehicles and have three more currently in process. Medical, dental and wellness organizations continue to take their services on the road to reach more patients and our recent flurry of vehicle construction definitely supports this growing trend.

Sparrow Health’s Cool Coach

Sparrow Health System selected an LDV coach to accommodate the volume of patients they see on a daily basis. Front and rear patient exam rooms are open and complete with exam tables, nurse’s work areas and custom-fabricated aluminum cabinetry. The vehicle is Michigan-weather ready with heated water tanks and insulated plumbing throughout and features additional amenities such as an on-board lavatory with a pressurized water system. A host of customer-supplied medical equipment was integrated into the vehicle including two exam tables, two patient scales, two task stools, Welch Allyn® Diagnostic machines and a medical refrigerator.

VA Palo Alto’s Medical Vehicle

The VA Palo Alto selected an MT-55 walk-in style van chassis for their medical unit with custom extra-deep LDV-built flat-floor slide-out rooms to increase the interior area, giving patients and providers a spacious environment. Bringing healthcare to veterans around the Palo Alto area, the VA’s new vehicle is telehealth-ready which allows doctors to speak with patients on the vehicle no matter where they are physically located. The interior of the VA Palo Alto’s vehicle utilizes cool blues and grays, creating a calming effect when inside. A triage area with medical testing equipment can be found inside along with a wheelchair lift that can self-adjust to uneven ground.

More Mobile Medical on the Way!

We are also excited to have three more units in production! While these vehicles are completely different from each other they share the same goal of providing quality healthcare to those living in their communities.

One organization has drawn inspiration from their company logo, applying these colors throughout the entire vehicle, giving it character and a fun edge. The space inside has been optimized to help provide privacy as they conduct different types of testing and consultations. Another organization’s vehicle-in-progress has employed a color palette that will remain timeless as they utilize their vehicle for many years to come. They’ve incorporated smart additions to their vehicle such as a dry flush toilet, affording the comforts of a lavatory to its patients with less maintenance for staff. Once their vehicle is complete it will provide different types of screenings and services to some of the most vulnerable patients in their community who would otherwise have to go without. The last vehicle is in our shop transforming from an empty chassis into a fully-functional mobile medical clinic with the fundamental elements being installed. We are eager to see the final product finished and ready to serve its community!
